Locating The 5 Wealth Areas And How To Activate Them

We are often interested in the various life aspects that feng shui is reputed to enhance.

But really, most people are just interested in using feng shui to improve their money luck.

Everything else is secondary. Even health and relationships.

It’s no surprise that finding the wealth location(s) in a home is one of the main objectives for any home owner or buyer who believes in feng shui.

The challenging, and sometimes confusing, part is that different concepts of feng shui can reveal different locations where wealth energy can be harvested.

While this can mean more work on your part in enhancing all wealth corners, imagine how powerful one area of the house can be when all feng shui schools of thought points to the same place.

Here are some of the most popular methods of locating wealth areas in the house.

1) Primary wealth location

Some methods of feng shui don’t take into account compass directions. But that does not mean that they should be discounted by any means.

Landscape feng shui for example has no bearings on directions.

However, it is still the most potent form of classical feng shui.

The concept of the primary wealth location (明财位) concerns the interior form of a residence.

Finding it is a breeze.

When looking into a room or living space from the door facing in, the primary wealth location will be the corner of the room that is diagonally across from the door.

If this is a living room we are studying, when this corner is a right angled wall with no doors or windows, then this is a usable wealth location.

Otherwise, the room’s wealth location would be considered “missing”.

When you run into a situation where this wealth luck area is missing, then you need to identify the secondary wealth location (次财位) which is located opposite the primary wealth location.

Again, it will only be able to harness wealth luck for the household if it is a walled corner with no doors or windows.

The primary and secondary wealth locations can be activated by setting up side tables or display cabinets to display wealth enhancing feng shui items.

2) Sheng chi

8 mansions feng shui is probably the most popular school of thought when we seek to personalize feng shui enhancers and draw on personal luck.

This one is easy.

Calculate your kua number, then find which directional location is your sheng chi direction.

The sheng chi directions is where we tap on energy that improves prosperity and good fortune.

For example, if you discover that your sheng chi direction is north, then this area of the house should be where you do your work.

Facing this direction when you work can also enable you to tap on it’s positive energy.

The most common practice to tap on sheng chi is to orientate your sleeping direction so that your head points towards it when resting.

3) Sun trigram

According to the 8 aspirations of the 8 trigrams in the bagua, the Sun trigram is the one the governs wealth luck.

And the sun trigram is associated with the southeast.

This means that southeast corner of every house is where you can find a wealth area according to the 8 aspirations concept.

The southeast being a wood elemental area, can be energized with the presence of water or wood.

This means that placing wood or water objects here, shapes related to them, or colors that represent either elements can help to invigorate this sector of the house and increase wealth luck for inhabitants to draw on.

4) Flying stars

We constantly talk about and make references to flying star feng shui for good reason.

It is the most powerful formula based feng shui system being practiced today.

In this methodology, we will be seeking the location of the wealth star 8.

In order to do this, you need to use an accurate magnetic compass and take the reading of the direction the house is facing.

With that nugget of information, identify when the house was built, and you can tabulate the natal chart for the house.

For example, if the house was built in 2007 facing southwest 2, then it would have the below birth chart.

We are specifically interested in find where the water star 8 is. This can be done by looking out for the square with 8 on the top right corner.

In this case, it is at northeast.

To activate the water facing star, set up an aquarium in this area or install fixtures with movement here.

For example, television sets or fans can be useful.

Also consider making this an active area.

I would also like to add that there are other ways to identify wealth locations in flying star feng shui and methods to awaken them.

For example, the sum of 10 concept and the 2-5-8 combinations.

But for beginners, finding the 8 star should be mastered before going to more advanced stuff.

5) Bazi

In Bazi analysis, the element in which your self-element conquers represents your wealth aspects in life.

For example, if you have an earth self element (heavenly stem on day pillar), then water represents your wealth.

Example above is for a person born on April 11, 1960.

According to the 24 mountains, water is the element for directions NW3, N1, N2, and N3. And they take up the compass reading from 322.5° to 22.5°.

Find this area of the house as it will be the area where you can personally tap on water energy to boost your wealth luck.

We can actually get more specific if we look deeper into the 10 gods.

But for the purpose of this exercise, identifying your self-element, determining the element in which you conquer, and locating those areas is good enough.

You can activate the wealth area by keeping it lively with activities that fill up the place with yang energy.

The strategic placement of water here can also trigger the water wealth energy to take shape.

Avalanche of wealth luck

While we have listed 5 of the most common ways to find wealth locations in the house, do take note that the amount of wealth each person can accumulate in life is very much determined by destiny.

For some people fully exploiting their wealth luck can make them millionaires. While for others, it could give them a comfortable life with no financial problems to stress about.

The point I’m trying to make is that “your mileage may vary”.

For example, two different footballers who realized their full potentials don’t mean that they will both become the best shooters in the world.

I would like to add that although 5 wealth areas have been listed here, it is not necessary to activate all of them to enjoy better money luck.

In a lot of cases, fully activating one of them is often sufficient to draw on more luck than you can handle.

Moreover, there is only so much water a sponge can soak up.

Once you hit that limit, it would not be able to absorb anymore no matter how much more water you try to pour on it.

If I can only choose one wealth location, I would undoubtedly go for the flying stars method.

But that’s just me. You can decide for yourself and make a clean sweep of all of them if you desire to do so.
