Shape Of Phoenix Eyes

The shape of phoenix eyes (凤眼) are somewhat stretched and slim.

While people with beautiful big eyes can have them shaped like phoenix eyes, more often than not, phoenix eyes are small compared to the average eye size.

The unique feature of this types of eye shape is that the corners of the eyes, or tail ends, which is the side further away from the nose, curve slightly upwards. Even though we use the word “slightly” here, the slope is usually noticeable.

This upward curve is what gives it the imagery of a phoenix spreading it’s wings. Thus the name of the eye shape.

Phoenix eyes indicate intelligence and insightfulness. Very often, they are the wisest among their peers. However, they tend to be people who “think too much”.

Women especially, with phoenix eyes, are often strategically tactful. And can charm their way to getting what they want.

There’s another type of phoenix eyes called the red phoenix eyes (丹凤眼), or crimson phoenix eyes.

This is very much like the typical phoenix eyes, except that the upward trajectory of the eye ends can be observed to be more dramatic. And also start to slope upwards from the midpoint of the eyes.

Those who have these eye shapes indicate courage, righteousness, virtuous. They often dare to step up for what they believe is right. And will also be more than willing to sacrifice for the greater good.
